Prokritee is created by Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Bangladesh (a North American non-government development organization) in 2001 to independently manage the 8 job creation projects in different parts of Bangladesh. Prokritee plays a very vital role in development and promotion of Bangladeshi handicrafts. Prokritee supports and ensures the livelihoods of more than one thousand rural artisans, mainly women.
Prokritee’s mission is to develop the social and economic capacity of poor, rural, disadvantaged women in Bangladesh by creating production employment opportunities and sustainable linkages to world markets.
Prokritee will maintain its standards and quality services, upholding MCC values and Fair Trade principles.
